On the other hand open office can be downloaded for free from openoffice.org, open office is compatible with both windows and linux operating systems.
Open office claims to do everything Microsoft Office can do and claims to give you more bang for the buck. On the other hand even if it's free, the open office product is different. Most of us have been using the Microsoft Product for years and dealing buttons being in different places and commands not working exactly the same isn't worth the hassle.
